Winning awards is obviously lovely, but the judges’ comments on our most recent award gave us an outsider’s perspective to what ‘team Marbrook’ feels like from a carer or family members view. This all started with us winning the Carers Trust ‘Carer Friendly Employer award’. It was their comments about the warmth of the reception staff, the fresh homemade pastries, and the general willingness to help visitors by everyone here, whatever their role.

This is the caring ethos we set out to achieve when we opened a year ago, but to hear we have come a long way to achieving it, is very satisfying.

A holistic approach to rehabilitation was always our aim. We of all organisations should know the impact that a life changing neurological incident has, not only to that individual, but for the whole family. Above and beyond our therapy team’s rehab programs, we work to enable each patient has a future life of real choice and control, while supporting the wider family as they transition through this difficult time.
